I am available for private instruction. The intention of the practice of yoga is to awaken to one's inherent infinite potential and intelligence. An asana practice, or physical practice of yoga poses, is not the most important ingredient but IS a necessary tool to cleanse, balance, strengthen and heal the body and mind.
According to yogi's, the is no spiritual bypass around the body! We must return to the body, not dominate it, and tap into our intrinsic authentic desire for self-care. When we turn towards our body with love, compassion, and gratitude and we discover our own alignment, inner spaciousness, and ease of being, energy flows freely and we can access the subtle body - the aspect of us that extends beyond the physical.
In private instruction, I meet you wherever you are. If you have pain or injury, I begin with therapeutics to assist with re-aligning the body to reduce pain. If you are interested in deepening your asana practice, I teach detailed alignment in each category of postures. If you are seeking yoga to reduce mental stress, I will teach you very beneficial relaxation techniques and meditation. However we are approaching your practice, mindfulness and breath are at the heart of our our work together.
